Dr. Deems has pastored churches most of his life. He began his formal training at North Georgia Bible College graduating with an Associate degree. He continued his education at the Covington Theology Seminary graduating with the D.Min. Th.D. Ph.D. He accepted a position on staff there and served also as  professor where he taught for many years. Dr. Deems took over as the Dean at Gwinnett Hall Baptist Bible College in 2017 and also serves as professor to this date.
